Originally started in 1995 by Jim and Andrea Mageean as a full service landscaping, natural stone supply and topsoil supply business known as Heritage Garden Supplies. The two founding members, Jim and Andrea, had a vision to provide top quality landscaping and topsoil supply in both the residential and commercial sectors. Starting off by installing small flagstone patios, walkways and rock gardens, Heritage quickly grew into a full scale landscaping company building large waterfalls, streams, ponds and other water features while slowly growing other parts of the business.
By 2005, Jim and Andrea, identifying the need to diversify and grow, decided to start with the acquistion of two triaxle dump trucks between 2005-2007. Now becoming more self sustaining with the ability to haul and sell material to local stone yards, broker for gravel companys and to supplement the supply of material on their own projects. While the company gradually grew and transitioned to be more construction based and less landscape project driven it still remained very busy. Meanwhile, by 2021, another opportunity arose which led Jim and Andrea to identify the need to diversify yet again.
By 2021, their son Adam was interested in becoming apart of the business and had just finished his studies at Fleming College for Rock Drilling and Blasting. After many customers already inquiring about Heritage Garden Supplies offering septic installation as a apart of their services, Heritage needed a trusted leader for their new division. Adam was eager to fill the newly created septic installer role and could not wait to start working in the family business. So, in 2021 the company underwent a name change and became Heritage Excavation and Siteworks. Now with a more relevant name and primed to start growing the business again, with acquistions of new equipment, Heritage, started servicing the growing need to provide our current and new customers with quality septic installations. Fast forward entirely until present day and we are now still offering the same comprehensive suite of services with our main focus being septic design, repair and installation.
Our two founding vissionaries, Jim and Andrea, still lead the charge, with Adam working closely alongside them to spearhead the septic portion of the business. Jim and Andrea's grandchildren have also worked in the business and will continue to become a larger part of the flourishing family business. We are very proud of our extensive Heritage and will continue to grow and diversify as a family for many years to come all while providing the residents of Barrie and Simcoe County with the family friendly customer first approach everyone has grown to expect from Heritage Excavation and Siteworks Inc.
